Walking Tours in the British Isles
In the UK all the walking holidays are bespoke, in that we tailor each and every trip to suit the needs and walking experiences of the group. You can take a gentle stroll around some of England's most peaceful lakes or tackle rocky ridges and experience the exhilaration of the really high mountains.
We need a minimum of four to make a viable walking group although the more the merrier. The main areas are The English Lake District, Snowdonia, Scottish Highlands and Isles, North York’s Moors (Heartbeat Country) and The Yorkshire Dales (Herriot Country).
We charge a daily rate per guide for guided walking and group leadership and accommodation can be arranged if needed.
Your guide rate in The UK for high level walks is as follows:
| Lake District | Snowdonia | Dales | NY Moors | Scotland |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| £150 | £150 | £120 | £120 | £200 |
| Per Day | Per Day | Per Day | Per Day | Per Day |
These prices are for groups of 4 – 8 people. If the group size goes above 8 a further guide is needed and a further daily rate is charged.
For low level walks the above prices will be reduced by 20%.
Accommodation
We have close links with various B & Bs and hotels in all the areas we guide in and if any guests require us to book accommodation o their behalf or simply wish to be put in contact with an accommodation provider please let us know. It is always best if groups are staying in the same accommodation as this simplifies the evening briefings on the following days walking.
How the holiday is structured
We usually meet a group on a Saturday afternoon and get to know everyone with a drink in the pub on Sat Evening. There we would plan the following days walking and give a suggested itinerary for the week or part week. If a group has their own suggestions we would always do our best to accommodate their requests. It must be noted that any walks will be at the discretion of the leader on the spot and their decision on terminating a walk will be final. There is no point in paying for some one to lead you if you don’t go along with their advice.
General tips
Walking in the mountains of the UK can be dangerous and we can have four seasons in an afternoon. Pleas pay close attention to the levels of gear that is required for both high and low level walking and remember the fitter you are the more you will enjoy walking wherever you walk.
